FAQ

1. How does your corporate gifting program work?

To ensure the best quality products and services, all of our corporate gifts are made-to-order based on your exact specifications and corporate gifting needs. With sustainability at the core of our values, this also helps us - and therefore, you - minimize waste! You can refer to this blog post for our latest offering: melb.co/MBFPCorporate, or contact us anytime to set up a time to chat about how we can help meet your needs in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

2. Can you help me with the production of my own label?

Absolutely! With our trusted network of luxury European vendors and manufacturers, we are able to help you design, source and manufacturer under white label or private label. Please check out this blog post to get a behind the seams look into how this creative process works: Our Creative Process

3. What are your minimums?

We do not have minimums! However, our first price break begins at a minimum of only 10 units per style. Any quantities less than 10 will be priced as samples.

4. Can you run production based on an existing sample I already have made?

If you already have a sample you can send us, this will be helpful to ensure we get your design exactly right. However, a sample is not necessary and we can also work off your detailed sketches and specifications. Just to clarify, even if you have existing patterns and samples our factory will need to create their own patterns and a first sample in preparation for production.

5. Do you source the materials as well, or are you simply a cut-and-sew establishment?

Our factory can do everything from A to Z. We can source leathers and materials for you. We work with premiere suppliers in Spain, Italy, France and the USA to source materials based on your specific requirements of leather grain, fabric finish, color, etc.

6. What about hardware and finishings such as grommets and zippers...do you source these materials?

Yes, we can provide the hardware and finishings needed. You do not need to provide us with any materials unless you want to - see question 10 below.

7. What is the average price to make a first prototype?

We will need to see your design and all the specs (sizing, materials, etc.) before we can give an accurate estimated price. But just to give a ballpark figure - the initial development costs to create the patterns and first sample for a relatively basic handbag design typically start at around $1000 - $1500. This includes the pattern,  materials sourcing, and logo development needed to make the first sample.

8. Do you have a catalogue of designs that we can use for our own label/brand?

We are here to make your job as easy as possible, and so if you'd prefer to work off of our existing designs we can offer these as either co-branded or white labeled. The benefit of this approach is that you will bypass any development costs since we have already done that heavy lifting for you.

9. What is the average price point on production?

This will vary widely based on the complexity of your design, the materials requested and quantities you would like to produce. We will therefore need to see your design and all the specs (sizing, materials, etc.) before we can give an accurate estimated cost. Again, our first production price break starts at only 10 units per style.

10. If I have special materials I'd like to incorporate into my designs, can I have these sent to you to incorporate into the production?

Yes, you can ship any special materials directly to us to incorporate into your finished designs.

11. What is your lead time?

Because all of our products are made-to-order, we typically will require at least 6-8 weeks from your requested delivery date. We understand things do come up last minute, and so we will work with you to expedite this process time if needed.

12. Do you offer vegan leather options?

Yes! We are fully aware of the environmental impact that leather production and plastic-based synthetic leathers have on the environment. As such, we are continuously researching the market for alternatives that can meet our clients’ highest of expectations in terms of aesthetics, durability, quality, circularity and renewability.
